Aston Martin V12 Zagato

As the trademark vehicle of choice for James Bond, it’s tough to make most Aston Martins any more elegant, powerful or aesthetically pleasing. Famed Italian coach-maker Zagato, however, managed to do just that with their brand new special edition Aston Martin V12 Zagato. Cast in aluminum and based off the classic V12 Vantage, design details on this formidable Aston concept car include Zagato’s signature “double bubble” roof (originally meant to allow extra headroom for racer’s bulky helmets), a muscular flank reminiscent of the Vanquish, and LED lights all around. Supposedly an in-between variant of the GT3-spec racing Vantage announced earlier this year and a future production model of the flagship Aston, the V12 Zagato is truly a one-of-one force to be reckoned with.

Snoop Dogg considers launching hip hop version of The X Factor

The rapper Snoop Dogg has announced he wants to produce an X Factor-style television programme to find the next big hip-hop star.




The 39-year-old singer, who is in the UK to promote the launch of his 11th studio album Doggumentary, said that although he thought X Factor and American Idol were "great shows", he felt there was space in the market for a televised talent contest "straight directed to the hood … at people with no money, just talent".

He said: "I'm looking for a deal from a network to find America's hottest hood artists."

Asked what he thought of pop star Cheryl Cole, who has recently signed up to be a judge on the US version of the X Factor, Snoop Dogg replied: "She alright. She doing her thing. She a little bit hardcore, a bit edgy."

Snoop Dogg, a former Crip gang member, is himself no stranger to edginess. At possibly the most politically incorrect press conference ever seen on these shores, the rapper kept assembled journalists waiting in a private gentleman's club in central London for almost an hour, before appearing on stage amid clouds of smoke and a bevy of skimpily-clad pole dancers.

Sipping an unidentified beverage from a Union Jack mug, Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr) wore sunglasses throughout as he fielded questions.

Earlier this month, the rapper released a collaboration with Charlie Sheen called Winning, featuring some of the troubled actor's infamous catchphrases. "Charlie Sheen was my friend before," said Snoop Dogg. "I don't judge my friends. If he's my friend, he's going to stay my friend. He called me over for a session … he needed real people to stand by him."

In recent years, Snoop Dogg has successfully branched out into film and television. In London, he insisted that his plans for world domination did not stop there. "I want to open up a supermarket chain," he said. "But I'm going to call them Snoopermarkets."

Snoop Dogg plays the Forum, London NW5 on Tuesday night.

YOUNG JEEZY’S ‘TM103’ GETS RELEASE DATE

Young Jeezy fans rejoice. After a series of delays, the Atlanta rapper has finally set a solid release date for his oft-delayed album "Thug Motivation 103".


Jeezy’s fourth studio LP is scheduled to drop on July 26, Rap-Up.com has learned. TM103‘s release coincides with the sixth anniversary of his debut Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101.

In preparation for his summer takeover, Jeezy sent out his first tweet this week announcing the album’s completion. “#TM103 Is Done!!! The Summer Will Be Crazy!!!” he wrote.

The project’s first offering “Ballin’” featuring Lil Wayne was sent to digital retailers last week. Travis Barker revealed that he plays drums on the album’s intro produced by Drumma Boy.

KANYE WEST TURNS HEADS IN $1.7 MILLION MERCEDES SLR

Kanye West made a grand entrance in a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss sports coupe at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala held during the Cannes Film Festival in Cap d’Antibes, France. Only 75 of the limited edition cars are in production with an estimated price tag of $1.7 million. Yeezy pulled up in the bad boy looking like James Bond in a tuxedo and shades as passersby gawked. Inside the black-tie event, he rubbed shoulders with "Naomi Campbell" and "Boy George." He is headed to Morocco next, where he will headline the Festival Mawazine.
