Eminem & Yelawolf Vibe Cover

Eminem & Yelawolf will be on the cover of Vibe’s December 2011/January 2012 issue. As Vibe puts it, “In our exclusive interview, the posterboys of colorless hip-hop opened up about their views on race, past issues with substance abuse, similarities and differences.” The issue hits news stands December 6th, check out some of the excerpts after the cut.
Eminem & Yelawolf Poking Fun at Their Race:
Eminem, what advice do you offer, if any, on being scrutinized for being a white rapper. Do you guys ever talk about race in that way?
Eminem: We make jokes about it, but I don’t think we talk about it in depth. As I was listening to his music, I am not even thinking about any of that shit. It’s just the music. That’s one of the things that’s great about it. I’m not even thinking about it when I hear the music.
Yelawolf: We do poke fun of it because it’s funny. Like, he calls me White Dog.
Oh, you called him that on the BET Awards Cypher. I didn’t realize it was an ongoing joke?

EM: Yeah, or Beige Sheep. [Laughs]
YW: Cracker Nuts. Whatever, I think it’s kinda unspoken.
EM: We deal with it enough as it is. So now, let’s make music.
YW: Let’s make great records. At the end of the day, that’s all there is to do.
Eminem & Yelawolf Talk About Their Past & Using Drugs:

You mentioned getting yourself right. Are you completely clean these days as far as alcohol and drugs?
EM: Except for the heroin I shot up this morning. Except for that, I’m clean. [Laughs]

While you’re clean, Yelawolf here smokes weed and—
Yelawolf: No, I don’t.

I hear that in your music a lot.
YW: I started smoking weed at 11. By 12, I was smoking dust. Thirteen, acid, Freon, special k, mushrooms; 16 years old, I was selling X pills at school. Not even because I was a good dope boy, but because I was a scumbag. It was called chocolate chip, and it had heroin in it. I used to take that shit and go to class. I went so heavy into drugs that I had a bad trip one time that lasted for months.

BAD MEETS EVIL CONQUERS THE BILLBOARD 200

If anybody has the commercial strength to overthrow Adele on the Billboard 200 it's Eminem. As part of the duo Bad Meets Evil, the most successful artist of the last decade enters the chart this week at #1 with the EP Hell: the Sequel.
With a 19k lead on this week's #2 entry, Jackie Evancho's Dream With Me, "Hell" claims the top spot on the tally with an impressive 171k copies sold. However, this isn't Eminem's 1st #1 record as a member of a group. The rapper climbed to the peak of the Billboard 200 as part of D12 with the albums Devil's Night in 2001 and D12 World in 2004.
Elsewhere in the top 10 of the lineup are Adele's 21 at #3 with 115k sold and Lady GaGa's Born This Way at #4, selling just under 68k (down 33%). To date, both albums have sold approximately 2.3 million and 1.5 million copies, respectively.
Further down the list are Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans at #24 with 18k units sold (down 7%; total of 1.1 million), Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 with 14k (up 29%; total of 2.8 million) and Wiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers with 13.9k (total of 459k). Rounding out the top 40 are Rihanna's Loud, which sold 13.8k copies (up 2%; total of 1.3 million) and Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday with 12.7k (up 3%; total of 1.4 million).

New Video: Dr. Dre ft. Eminem & Skylar Grey: I Need A Doctor

Detox seems to be inching in closer and closer than ever before, as Dr. Dre hits everyone with the second music video off the mythical album, for the Eminem-assisted single, "I Need A Doctor."

In the beginning of the Allen Hughes-directed clip, Dre sits on a beach in February 2001, reflecting on the biggest moments in his life, from his days with Eazy-E to Snoop, all the way up to his early days with Eminem, and even his wedding day. Then, after a few deep breaths, he hopes into his Ferrari and speeds off throughout a windy mountain road, before becoming the victim of a serious accident.

Years later, his loyal protégé Eminem is seen standing by his side while Dre remains on life support, as he pours his heart out in his verse as to why Dre means so much to him. When he does finally awakes from his coma, Dre gets right back into shape, and promises to return with vengeance to drop his final album before saying goodbye.

The video closes with a shot of him visiting the late Eazy-E’s grave.

Detox is due out this year.
